The Italian folk magic Breve Bag is a sewn cloth bag, carefully made through prayer and intention for your specific purpose.

During my process, the spirits and saint connected to each unique bag is intentionally invoked, with dedicated prayer accompanying the work as it comes together, blessed with holy water, incorporating herbs, saint medals, apotropaic charms, and other sacred items or materials too. No two are made exactly the same.

Originating from the southern regions of Italy, the breve bag is traditionally kept out of sight and close to the body. It can be carried in a pocket, pinned inside clothing such as a bra, or placed in a car, or kept anywhere discreet.

The power of the breve lives in the prayers and invocations sealed within it. Each one offering steady blessing and spiritual protection from various forms of curses, the mal’occhio (evil eye), and spiritual disturbances. Other purposes may include fertility, healing, safe travel, finding work, or support in other circumstances.
